Young Sadhu

Young Sadhu, an artist from Un, Banaskantha, Gujarat, hails from a village where rap music is virtually unknown. Most locals are only familiar with Honey Singh and Badshah. Sadhu’s journey into rap began in 8th grade when he first heard Honey Singh’s “”One Bottle Down.”” This sparked his interest in rap music, leading him to explore the works of desi artists like Raftaar, Badshah, and Bohemia. Eventually, he discovered the western hip-hop scene, getting into artists like Eminem, J. Cole, Tupac, and Kendrick Lamar. Although he didn’t initially understand all their lyrics, he admired their flow and style.

In 2019-20, Sadhu started creating music on his mobile phone, with his most-streamed track, “”Deathbed Hindi Remix,”” being recorded and mixed entirely on his phone. Unable to afford beats, he taught himself how to produce, mix, and master his tracks. Despite not being an expert in mixing and mastering, he experimented with his producing skills in his first EP, “”Grief EP.”

“Mai jee raha aise jaise jee raha ho murda.”
