Kashmiri Rap Duo SOS Drops Explosive Diss Track Targeting Seedhe Maut

Blackball - The Kashmiri rap duo SOS's diss track aimed at delhi-based rap duo Seedhe Maut.

The Kashmiri rap duo SOS, comprising Tufail and AATANKI, has sent shockwaves through the Indian hip-hop scene with their latest release—a scathing diss track aimed at the Delhi-based rap duo Seedhe Maut.

The Rise of SOS

Hailing from the tumultuous region of Kashmir, SOS, short for Straight Outta Srinagar, has become a formidable presence in the hip-hop community. Through their music, they articulate the struggles and aspirations of a marginalized community, providing a voice to the complexities of their homeland.

Their journey began when AATANKI participated in a free verse challenge by Rebel 7, catching the attention of Tufail. The two connected over their shared passion for hip-hop, eventually forming the dynamic duo SOS. Drawing inspiration from both international legends like Biggie, Tupac, Eminem, and 50 Cent, and homegrown artists such as Ahmer and Bohemia, SOS has carved out a unique niche in the music industry.

The Beef with Seedhe Maut

The animosity between SOS and Seedhe Maut is not new. Both groups were previously associated with Azadi Records, a relationship that was marred by conflicts and perceived favoritism. According to SOS, the label’s CEO, Mo Joshi, often prioritized Seedhe Maut’s projects over theirs, leading to repeated delays and frustrations.

SOS has accused Seedhe Maut of lacking originality, alleging that they copied the concept for their “Keef” project.

This tension was exacerbated by the release of Seedhe Maut’s “?” EP, which bore striking similarities to SOS’s planned thematic approach. These issues, combined with a lack of support from fellow artists under the same label, have fueled a bitter rivalry.

The New Diss Track

The latest diss track called “Blackball” from SOS pulls no punches, including personal jabs and trolling Seedhe Maut member Encore. The song’s incendiary lyrics reflect the duo’s anger and frustration, offering a raw and unfiltered look at their perspective on the feud. With this release, SOS aims to reclaim their voice and assert their dominance in the rap game.

Update on this (27th June)
