Karun and Nanku, the iconic duo of Desi Hip-Hop (DHH), have carved their names in the annals
of music history with their unforgettable tracks like “Sarphira,”Nazraan”, Nakli,” KIT,” and the
illustrious list goes on. Among their repertoire, “Mhmm” stands out as a masterpiece, its
infectious beats and captivating sample becoming the heartbeat of every DHH enthusiast.
However, “Mhmm” found itself at the center of discourse among DHH aficionados when it
suddenly vanished from Spotify. The deletion left fans sparking conversations and speculation
within the community.

On May 6th, Karun took to his Instagram handle to share awaited news with fans, announcing
that the infamous “Mhmm” track was finally making a comeback, with the sample cleared and
ready for release that very night. Excitement rippled through the DHH community, eager to
embrace the return of the beloved anthem.

OLD VERSION NEW VERSION
However, as the revamped track hit the airwaves, it failed to resonate with fans in the same way
its predecessor had. Despite Karun’s efforts and the cleared sample, the magic of the original
seemed elusive, leaving many listeners feeling underwhelmed.
The comment sections across social media platforms erupted with mixed reactions, with
sentiments ranging from nostalgia for the original to disappointment with the new rendition.
Among the flood of responses, echoes of “PHELE WALA THEEK THA” reverberated, reflecting
the sentiment that the original held a special place in fans’ hearts. The alterations in flow, vocal
delivery, and particularly the changes to Udbhav’s part left many feeling disconnected from the
essence of the original.”TUM HUMARE GUNHEGAAR HOE” says the fans ironically.
